Angela Ann "Angie" Davis

Angela "Angie" Davis (Werner), born May 16, 1953, passed away on January 29, 2026.

Angie was known for her kindness, her warmth, and her genuine interest in everyone she met. She was talkative, welcoming, and had a way of making people feel comfortable and valued from the moment they crossed her path.

For most of her adult life, Angie devoted herself to teaching, spending many years as a third and fourth grade teacher at St. Anthony's School in Des Moines. Her passion was her students, and she took great pride in getting to know them as individuals, always showing care and encouragement both inside and outside the classroom.

Angie was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Olivia Werner.

She is survived by her daughter, Erin Hannan (John), of whom she was deeply proud; her grandchildren, Mia Jansen (and great-granddaughter Paislee), Chaz Jansen, and Blake Jansen. Although ongoing illness limited the time she was able to spend with them in recent years, Angie's love for her grandchildren was constant. She always asked about them, spoke of them often, and held them close in her heart.

Angie is also survived by her aunt, Nancy, whose unwavering presence, care, and dedication ensured Angie was always well supported. She is also survived by brothers, Jim Werner and Tom (Debbie) Werner; sister, Mary (Sam) Bernabe; nieces, Kara Dods and Leah Werner; and nephew Nick Bernabe. Angie is further survived by many extended family members and friends who were touched by her kindness and compassion.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Iles Westover Chapel, 6337 Hickman Road, Des Moines, Iowa 50322, on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
