Mary Couch Obituary
Mary was born on June 3, 1932, to Earl and Dicy Brelsford. She graduated from Topeka High School in 1950, and Stormont School of Nursing in 1954. In 1984, Mary received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Washburn University School of Nursing. Mary had a long career in nursing with over twenty years as a public health nurse at the Topeka-Shawnee County Health Agency. After retirement, she served as a volunteer at Stormont Vail Hospital and the Community Hospital in Marshalltown, Iowa.
Mary was married to Richard Canfield until their divorce. In 1988, she married Lynn E. Couch. She is survived by her husband, Lynn; son, Russell Canfield of Austin, Texas; three daughters: Tamara Robbins of Fountain Valley, California, Terill Canfield of Lawrence, Kansas, and Laurin Canfield of Des Moines, Iowa; she has eight grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Mary's name may be directed to the Humane Society, a children's food program of your choice, or the Washburn University School of Nursing.
