Angela A. Mackowski, lovingly known as Angie, passed away peacefully, surrounded by love, at the age of 72 in Plattsburgh, NY. She leaves behind a legacy of generosity, warmth, and unwavering care for those she loved.
Angie was predeceased by her beloved husband, Alan Mackowski; her mother Sarah Alexander and stepfather Edward Alexander; her father Napoleon Garrant; and her brother Randall Garrant.
She is survived by her siblings: Edward Garrant and his wife Sandie, Carol Perry and her husband Donald, James Garrant, Debra Garrant, Robin Pageau, Terry Alexander and his wife Shannon, Kim Alexander, Scott Alexander and his significant other Mary Riley, and Heidi Barber and her significant other Gary Matthews.
Angie’s love and influence extended deeply into her family. She is survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, with special mention of her very dear nephew Jacob Barber and his partner Sara Olga, and her beloved niece Jenna Barber and her partner Elle (L) Fields. Angie held a particularly special place in her heart for her “little darling,” great-niece Rylee — who brought endless light and laughter into her life. Their bond was unbreakable and filled with giggles, joy, and cherished moments that will forever live on in Rylee’s heart.
She also leaves behind many four-legged companions who brought her joy, and countless friends who felt like family.
Angie was a woman who gave without expecting anything in return. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life — going to bingo, baking and cooking up comfort, cherishing old stories, listening to music, and kicking back in her recliner with a Hallmark movie. Her greatest gift was the way she made everyone feel welcomed, cared for, and full — in every way that mattered.
