Angie was born to Jerry and Nancy (Paustian) Moyer in Cedar Falls as they both attended UNI there. The family soon moved to rural Traer, much to the delight of her grandparents. Shortly after, she was joined by two brothers, Jeff and Doug, and two cousins, Blair and Brent Overton. The five were close and spent a fair amount of time on Grandpa's farm. It wasn't until much later that their mothers learned the details of all they did while there. Grandpa took them fishing at Wolf Creek, where they played in the water and caught tadpoles, frogs, and baby garter snakes to show Grandma.
Angie attended school in Traer. In high school she ran track and played volleyball as the team's setter, where she would perfectly place the ball for the team's spiker to knock it down for a point. This was a skill she carried into the rest of her life where she tirelessly set the rest of us up to be successful.
Randy and Angie met at First Assembly Church in Des Moines. Randy remembers reading hymns, specifically Amazing Grace, when he first saw her. They were married on August 26, 1989. As with everything, God's planning never fails, while He sent Angie to Randy, He also sent Angie her beloved sister-in-law, Linda, and her mother and father-in-law, Marilyn and Ralph, who loved her like their own daughter. Together, Randy and Angie raised five children. Angie was a devoted wife and a "Super Mom." In her younger years, you would always find her at a baseball, basketball, or football game with her small army of children in tow.
Angie was a lover of all people, but she had a very special place in her heart for animals and nature. She leaves behind three small dogs, which she walked every morning, and a cat, as well as a countless number of neighborhood squirrels, birds, and strays that she fed. She loved to be outdoors working in her flower and vegetable gardens.
Angie spent the last five years being a grandma, which she may have considered her most cherished role. She poured so much love into her grandbabies. Instead of ballgames with her kids, you would now find her with her grandkids going down every slide at the park, in the kitchen making smoothies, cuddled in a chair reading, or at the table doing science experiments. There was nothing she wouldn't do for them or with them.
Angie was a devout Christian. She was strong in her faith, and we know she is resting with her Father in Heaven. She had the rare ability to love just like her savior Jesus did, and she shared that love with everyone. She made a friend of everyone she met and regularly went out of her way to lend a hand to those in need.
Angie is survived by her husband of 36 years, Randy Noel; her children, Hannah Noel, Zeb (Carleigh) Noel, Sarah (Garrett) Gehringer, Abby Noel, and Rebekah Noel; her mother, Nancy Hardister; her brothers, Jeff (Fran) Moyer and Doug (Rose) Moyer; her sister-in-law, Linda (Brian) Slycord; her niece and nephew, Sydney and Shaun Slycord; and her paternal grandmother, Ruth Moyer. Angie was loved dearly and will be missed by all, especially by her six grandchildren: Bo, Waverleigh, Brooks, Witt, Wyatt, and Boone.
She was preceded in death by her father, Jerry Moyer; her in-laws, Ralph and Marilyn Noel; her aunt and uncle, Barbara and Bruce Overton; and her stepfather, Tony Hardister.
There is no possible way to sum up who Angie was and what she did in a few paragraphs. She is described as being an angel on earth, a saint, and a woman with a heart of gold. There are very few people on this side of Heaven that are as selfless or as caring as Angie. She loved hard, she loved fiercely, and she never once gave up on her people.
