Angela Marie (Schmaltz) Olson, 71, of Dilworth, MN, passed away on Monday, September 16, 2024, at Lilac Homes, Dilworth, MN.
Angela was born on July 17, 1953, to Clemens and Shirley (Rasmussen) Schmaltz in Devils Lake, ND. She grew up in Devils Lake where she graduated from Central High School. She moved to Fargo, ND, where she attended and graduated from Josef’s School of Hair, Skin, and Body and worked as a beautician in Cando, Devils Lake, and Fargo for several years. She managed a Food N’ Fuel convenience store in Dilworth for a few years prior to working at Wal-Mart as a customer service manager for nearly 30 years. She was united in marriage to Steven Olson on April 6, 1990, and he passed away on June 1, 2007. Shortly after retiring from Wal-Mart, Angela moved into Lilac Nursing Home in Dilworth, MN, where she has lived ever since.
Angela enjoyed word searches and loved to bake, her family looking forward to her brownies. She was a caregiver at heart and took care of her family members at critical points in their lives. She loved to spend time at Lake Lida with her family where they met numerous friends.
Angela is survived by her son, Justin (Chassity) Olson; grandchildren, Jaxton and Briella Olson; siblings, Mary Harrington, Frances (Greg) Joramo, Anthony Schmaltz, and Peter (Vickie) Schmaltz; sister-in-law, Geri Schmaltz; siblings-in-law, Marsha Moline and Carol (Don) Thoennes; and many other loving relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Steven; parents, Clemens and Shirley; grandparents; siblings, baby Mike Schmaltz, Michale Schmaltz, and Robert Shmaltz; siblings-in-law, Edwin Harrington, Jonni Schmaltz, Lynda Schmaltz, and John Moline.
Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M., followed by the prayer service at 7:00 P.M., Thursday, September 19, 2024, at Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead, MN. Visitation will continue from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M., followed by the funeral service at 11:00 A.M., Friday, September 20, 2024, at Dilworth Lutheran Church, Dilworth, MN. Final resting place will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Fargo, ND, at a later date.
