Angela Pazman (pronounced PAWS-MAN), 86, of Murrysville, passed peacefully on Wednesday, March 6, 2024, ironically on her loving husband Chuck's birthday.
She was the devoted mother of Charles Allen (Cheryl) Pazman and Julie Anne (Doug) Wright; beloved grandmother of Michelle (Candice) Bowman, Abbi (Joe) Farrell, Alyssa (Francesco) Andreoli, and Jacob, Alli, Noah, Macey, Mitchell, Eli and Evan Wright; and great-grandmother of Hayden Wright, Camryn Bowman and Frankie Andreoli. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles; and son, John.
Angela, aka Babe or Angie, was born in Baltimore, Md. Her family originated from Italy and settled in Oakmont. As a teenager, she was kept busy with young cousins and nephews. In high school is where she met her sweetheart, and they made so many memories together. She was the head majorette and he was the drum major for Oakmont High School, Class of 1955.
After working for Westinghouse as a secretary, they relocated to Holiday Park, Plum Borough to raise their family. Angela worked for Holiday Park Elementary School as a librarian. After retirement, they moved to Murrysville and enjoyed 30 more years together. They loved cruises and traveled all over the U.S. On many trips they were accompanied by their dearest friends. She loved the casino and had special games she would play for hours, enjoyed dinner out, shopping with her sister, Josie, and sharing many birthdays with her best friend, Marlene.
Mom had a green thumb and grew the most beautiful flowers in her sunroom or her yard full of potted plants. Pansies, orchids and deep pink geraniums, clematis, her ficus tree, aloe vera plants and Christmas cactus were her favorites. She took great pride in all her plants and passed this on to future generations.
When the grandchildren came along, she was called Grandma or Nana. She spoiled them with Smarties, goodies and report card quarters. Mom shared stories of her childhood heritage, how hard her parents worked in their grocery store and market, and amazing details from long ago. The kids loved her baking ability, whether it was her marble cake, with famous bakers icing, to apple dumplings or crisp, or annual Christmas cookie day! From Sunday dinners, to sharing in their religious life, family birthday parties, special surprises at the holidays and even teaching the kids about sewing, she was very involved in her family's lives. Most favorite of all, at any time, she would pull out a deck of cards and play war, rummy, poker or gin with her grandchildren gathered around the kitchen table.
The family would like to thank our amazing caregivers during this extended period. Kathy, Yanique and Erica showed her love and respect beyond words. We would also like to extend our heartfelt appreciation for the outstanding care of Heartland Hospice and staff, they treated mom like an angel … thank you Kim, Christine and Teresa.
