Angeline Keller, 94, Karlsruhe, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 17, 2025 surrounded by her loving family.
Angeline Black was born in Rugby on February 27th, 1931, the daughter of Fabian and Magdalena (Kurtz) Black. She was raised on the family farm near Blumenfeld and educated in Berwick.
Angeline married Bernard Keller on April 8, 1953, in St. Anselm's Catholic Church in Fulda, ND. They made their home on the Keller family farm in Karlsruhe.
Angeline's faith in God and love for her family and friends was paramount in her life. Angeline was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church and the Confraternity of Christian Mothers. Angeline was a great cook, exceled at baking and canning and was a generous and welcoming hostess. All were welcome at her table whether for dinner, supper, drinks, or just good conversation. At the end of the evening Angela's guests always enjoyed pie, kuchen, cookies, bars or other home-baked treats that she kept in her well-stocked freezer. In her free time, she enjoyed gardening, and embroidering. During her retirement years, Angeline and Bernard took frequent day trips to area casinos, occasionally traveling to Las Vegas with her children and grandchildren. Although she was German through and through, Angeline had a touch of "the luck of the Irish", often cashing in on the slot machines she enjoyed playing.
Angeline was known for working hard and playing hard when the work was done. She always kept a bottle of Hochzeits Schnapps in the cupboard for special guests or special occasions and wasn't afraid to partake with family and friends. Angeline taught her grandchildren how to make German Noodles; her recipe is something her family will continue to pass on for generations. Her work ethic and singular determination to get whatever job was at hand done, and done well, set an enduring example for her children and grandchildren.
Angeline is survived by her children: Galen (Katie Holmes) Keller, Karlsruhe, Glen (Mary) Keller of
