93, of Cranston and Ft Lauderdale, FL passed away Monday November 3, 2025 at Philip Hulitar Hospice Inpatient Center. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Angelo and Clara (Giansanti) Gatta. Al was a staff manager for Prudential Insurance Company for many years before retiring. He was a member of the Florida Sheriffs Association, Italian American Civic League of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, US Navy Cruiser Division, Tri-City Elks, St. Mary’s Feast Society, Bryant College Alumni Association and Honorary member of the Alpine Country Club and was a US Navy veteran.
He was the devoted father of Cheryl Angell; loving grandfather of Angelica and Chris Spertini and Jamie Angell and loving great-grandfather of Cristiana Spertini.
He was the dear brother of the late Evelyn Farina, Laura Gatta and Rose Lima.
He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday November 8, 2025 at 10 am in St. Mary’s Church, 1525 Cranston St. Cranston.
Burial will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
Visiting hours are respectfully omitted.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to: Hope Hospice & Palliative Care Rhode Island, 1085 North Main Street, Providence, RI 02904.
