Obituary of Angelo Santo Andreacola

Angelo Santo Andreacola, 95, of Moorestown, NJ passed away on September 26, 2024. He was born on August 5, 1929 in Camden, NJ to Nicola and Ernestina (nee Palumbo) Andreacola of Giuliano Teatino, Italy.

Angelo graduated from Camden High School in 1947 and went on to The College of South Jersey (now Rutgers University) followed by Temple University School of Dentistry where he earned his D.D.S. He married Dolores O'Brien in 1953 and they moved to Washington D.C. where he served in the U.S. Navy Dental Corp, reaching the rank of Lieutenant Commander. Angelo opened and operated his own dental practice in Pennsauken NJ, in the home office he built in 1958. He raised his family and lived there for 30 years. He later partnered in practice with his daughter, Lynn and they moved the practice to Marlton at what is now known as Andreacola Family Dentistry.

As a young man, he developed a passion for being on the water and later in life spent many hours and days on his sailboat on the Chesapeake Bay. His road trips to Florida for several weeks each winter was something he cherished with his late wife, whom he adored. An avid gardener in retirement, Angelo took special pride in his tomatoes and herbs and enjoyed cooking and healthy eating. He could creatively solve most mechanical problems and applied these talents to many building and repair projects throughout his life. He was a focused individual and strived to execute everything he did with excellence. Those who knew him always commented on his thoughtfulness and good humor.

He was a beloved husband to Dolores for 70 years, devoted father of Phyllis Andreacola, Chris Andreacola (Sandra), Janet Andreacola, and Lynn Andreacola (Tom), and loving grandfather of Thomas Trasser and Olivia Trasser.

Relatives and friends are invited to the Visitation & Funeral on Friday, October 4, 2024 from 8:30-10:15 AM at the Falco, Caruso & Leonard Pennsauken Funeral Home, 6600 N. Browning Road. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM at the Church of Our Lady of Good Counsel, 42 W. Main Street in Moorestown. Final internment will take place privately at Brigadier General W.C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Wounded Warriors Project, PO Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675.

In 1976 I was 25 and horrified of the chair. Dr A Andreacola hypnotized me so that I would not be afraid anymore He told me think about sailing, listen to the sea gulls and the sound of the water. Etc.
when I read the obituary, that´s some of the things he loved. I think he´s sailing and doing all of that in heaven.
A great dentist and wonderful person. Honored to have known him.

My first memory of Angelo was through my mother talking about him, her nephew she grew up with as they were 4 years apart in age. She loved him so much and so my heart also filled with love for him. We didn't see each other much as adults, but I loved going to cousin Ang, my dentist when I was a young girl. I always felt cared for with his calm sweet demeanor. I am attaching a photo of him dancing with my mother, Rose, his aunt, at her wedding. I loved looking at that photo my whole life. I lived in Maryland and I know Ang loved to sail there, so I feel close to him when I cross the rivers he had navigated. Sail on, beloved Angelo. With love, Joyce DeLaurentis. So sorry I cannot attend the service. I am in Italy and will make a trip to Giuliano Teatino in his honor and that of Aunt Ernie and Uncle Nick.

When I was six years old, I walked around the corner to Dr. Andreacola's office every six months. When I fell and broke my front teeth, he opened the office on a Sunday morning. Dr. Andreacola was an excellent dentist and a warm, funny gentleman.
