In Loving Memory of Kevin Dung Tran (Dung Van Tran)
Kevin Dung Tran, affectionately known as Kevin or Dung, passed away on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at the age of 55. A private memorial service was held by his family, followed by his cremation on June 25, 2025.
Born Dung Van Tran on March 2, 1970, in Cam Ranh, Vietnam, Kevin was the youngest son of Tuong Tran and Lac Thi Vo. In 1980, he emigrated to the United States, settling in Philadelphia, where he would go on to build a full and vibrant life. Though he lived in various parts of the city, he spent most of his years in Northeast Philadelphia, where he became a cherished member of the community.
Kevin was known for his exceptional culinary talent, particularly in Asian cuisine. His work as a cook in Center City earned him admiration for his attention to detail and passion for food.
More than anything, Kevin will be remembered for his joyful spirit, his generous heart, and his love of sharing meals with neighbors, friends, and family. His laughter was contagious, his resilience inspiring, and his friendly nature made him beloved by many.
He is survived by his wife, Anh Thuy Pham. Kevin also has two children and leaves behind a brother, five sisters, and many loving nieces and nephews.
Kevin will be deeply missed by all who knew him and were touched by his presence. His ashes will be returned to Vietnam, where he will be laid to rest in his homeland.
