Anhlinh Phuong Do was born on August 6, 1964, in Nha Trang, Viet Nam. Growing up, Anhlinh was an exemplary student, placing in the top percentage of his class. His favorite hobbies were playing sports and to read comic books.
His family endured many hardships following the conclusion of the Viet Nam War. Anhlinh was forced to take lead as the man of the house from an early age, and he had the responsibility of taking care of his mother and siblings. He immigrated to the United States in the early 1990s to work and pursue his college education. After graduating and earning a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science from Tennessee State University, Anhlinh went back to Viet Nam to marry his fiance, Duyen Danh. Anhlinh and Duyen both travelled back to the U.S. and moved in together to start their family.
Anhlinh was a key member of the Vietnamese-American community in Nashville. A devote Catholic, Anhlinh volunteered many of his hours to helping at St. Martha's and St. Pius. He was an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion at both parishes, distributing the Eucharist to his fellow congregation members. Anhlinh also spent many of his years as a tax preparer for the Vietnamese community. It was through that job that he was able help many Vietnamese families by translating and aiding in completing their taxes.
Anhlinh's legacy lives on through his wife, Duyen, and his two sons, Anhhuy and Kevin. His soul continues to live through us all, and he will always be with us, no matter where we may be in the world.
Visitation for Mr. Do will be on Thursday, July 6th from 2pm-9pm, and Friday, July 7th from 4pm-9pm. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 8th at Cathedral of the Incarnation, 2015 West End Avenue, Nashville, TN at 10am. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, 1001 Lebanon Pike, Nashville, TN.
