Anita Buttry, 71, of Tyrone, Oklahoma passed away late Sunday, July 20, 2025 at the BSA Hospital in Amarillo, Texas.
The daughter of Iona LaVonne (Pickard) and A.J. Keeling, Anita Darlene was born September 13, 1953 in Kermit, Texas. She was raised and attended school in Mesa, Arizona. Following high school she attended beauty school in Arizona. The family moved to Guymon in the early 70's.
Anita was united in marriage to Joseph Wayne Buttry on May 25, 1974. They moved to Tyrone in 1986, raising their family of four boys. Anita was a homemaker and could always be found following her boys to their sporting events. She was an avid sports fan and loved the OU Sooners. Anita also enjoyed bowling on leagues for several years.
She was preceded in death by her youngest son, T.J. Buttry on February 12, 2021; her mother, LaVonne and husband, Verley Thomason; one niece, Aliecha Franklin; one nephew, Joe Buttry; and great nephew, Trace Buttry.
Survivors include her husband of 51 years, Wayne Buttry of the home; three sons: Daniel Buttry of Tyrone, Bob Buttry and wife, Julia of Perryton, Texas and Kevin Buttry of Ardmore, Oklahoma; daughter-in-law, Angela Buttry of Liberal, Kansas; grandchildren: Laura, Nevaeh, Katelynn, Molly, Karson, Reghan, Zander, Alysia, Gabe, Alidah, Caleb, Aleigha and Jaclynn; great grandson, Evan; her father, A.J. Keeling and wife, Pam of Guymon; two sisters: Vickie Keeling of Phoenix, Arizona and Judy McCune of Hooker; one brother, Ted Keeling and wife, Vicki of Hooker; along with numerous nieces and nephews and extended family.
The family will greet friends on Wednesday evening, July 23rd from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday morning, July 24th at 10:00 a.m. at the Northridge Free Will Baptist Church in Guymon. Burial will follow at the Elmhurst Cemetery. Friends can sign the online guestbook and leave condolences at www.bunchroberts.com.
