Anita Ruth Davis

Anita Ruth Norton Davis, 74, of Justin, Texas passed away on November 16, 2025, in Dallas, Texas. Ruth was born on April 11, 1951, in Lubbock, Texas to Leroy and Wenonah (Janes) Norton. Ruth grew up in Lubbock Texas and met her husband, John, who was a student at Texas Tech University. Ruth and John settled in Justin, Texas, where they raised 4 children. They were married for 53 years, until John passed away in February 2022.

Ruth was an inspired entrepreneur and business owner, starting with Ruth and John’s opening of Justin Auto Supply in the early 1970s.

Ruth was a devoted mom and housewife while her children were young, spending many years as a Cub Scout and Girl Scout leader. She was very active with the school PTA and school events. She was also a volunteer EMT with the Justin Fire Department for many years. Ruth began working in the local florist in the 80s, which led to her desire to own and manage hospital gift shops in Bedford and North Richland Hills in the 1990s. She also owned a small sandwich shop off Main Street in Grapevine, where she could include her children and their friends as employees. In her later years, Ruth loved to travel and support her grandkids in all their activities.

Remaining to cherish Ruth’s memory are her children, John Davis and wife, Courtney, Angela Brooks and husband Michael, Mike Davis, and Marcia Thorne, as well as 8 grandchildren, sisters Lorita Sloan and Bekki Breisch, and many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.

Preceding Ruth in death are her husband, John, son-in-law, Andrew, parents, Leroy and Wenonah, brother, Bill, and nephews, Timothy and Keefe.

Memorial services will be held on Monday, November 24 at 10 am at Lucas Funeral Home in Grapevine, Texas.
