Anita Louise Franklin

Miss Anita Franklin, 61, of Atlanta passed away on October 24, 2025. Public viewing will be held on Friday, October 31, 2025 from 2-6 pm in the chapel of F.L. Sims Funeral Home, 2968 East Point Street, East Point, GA 30344. The celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, November 1, 2025 at 11:00 a.m.
Anita Louise Franklin was born in Asheville, North Carolina on March 24, 1964, to Sharon Franklin and Jesse Hines. Anita was the 2 nd oldest of 6 in the family including Jackie, Jessica, Ursala, Stephanie, and Jesse Hines Jr. "J". Anita moved from Asheville, North Carolina to Atlanta, Georgia when she was twelve years old to the West End area. Anita attended John F. Kennedy Middle School, Booker T. Washington High, and graduated with Honors from North Fulton High School. While in school Anita participated in track and field. After high school Anita attended Job Corps. Anita was a loving, dedicated mom to four children, one daughter, Anitra, and three sons, Zeric, Raheem, and Tariq. Anita was truly one of a kind with a smile that brighten any room that she stepped in to. Anita loved to sing and cook and would sing you a song to brighten up your day or cook you a meal, so you weren't hungry. Anita worked various jobs throughout her life, which included Burger King, Hardees, IHOP, Target, Atlanta Metropolitan College, IMS Human Services, and the Zoo. Any job that she had she made that environment fun and filled it with laughter. Her coworkers became friends, which eventually became family. Anita worked up until her health started to decline in 2020. Anita accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior as a young child. Although she couldn't attend Church service, as often as she wanted, she would watch online and sing like she was in there in the Choir. On October 24, 2025, Anita received her heavenly wings and transitioned home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Although her physical presence is no longer here with us, we have an abundantly number of memories that will always be cherished. Anita was preceded in death by her son, Raheem; her sister, Stephanie; her longtime Partner Toney; Raheem's father, Carlos. Anita leaves her legacy to continue through her parents Sharon, Jesse (Stepmother Margaret); three beloved children, Anitra, Zeric (Antionett), Tariq; Sisters, Jackie, Jessica, Ursala; Brother, Jesse Jr.; Sister-friends Tasha, Terry; 17 grandchildren Janiah, Antavious, Tanaya, Zyriah, Jaquavion, Deante, Chauncey, Za'meria, Malaysia, Majestii, Demarquez, Raheem Jr., Ramiya, Armonii, Serenity, Sariya, and To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of Anita, please visit our floral store.
