Anita Kay Hughes
Fair Haven- Anita Kay Hughes (Altrui), 84 died Sunday, Sept. 7, at the Rutland Regional Medical Center Hospice Care in Rutland.
Anita was born in Rutland on January 28th, 1941, the daughter of Peter and Josephine (Corsi) Altrui, formerly from Rutland and Pompano Beach FL.
She graduated from Mt. St. Joesphs Academy in 1958.
Anita was predeceased by her husband Jack whom she married on May 20, 1961. She was predeceased by her parents, Peter Sr. and Josephine (Corsi) Altrui. sisters Ellen (Altrui) Moore, Grace (Altrui) Adams and brothers Frank Altrui and Peter Altrui Jr.
She is survived by her children, son David Hughes and wife Janet of Essex Jct., Vt., daughter Heidi Paul and partner Darrell Whitely of Pflugerville Texas, 3 grandchildren (Bridget Hughes, Shane Paul and Aaron Duchesneau) and great granddaughter (Eva Duchesneau) and many loving cousins, nieces and nephews.
She had been employed at A&H Realty in Rutland and Lakes Region Realty in Fair Haven for many years.
Anita enjoyed attending our Fair Haven Slater sporting events, spending time with family & friends on Lake Bomoseen and cooking
A graveside memorial service will be held at Cedar Grove Cemetery at 11am on Thursday October 16th. A celebration of her life will follow at the Castleton American Legion, 298 Route 4A W Bomoseen, VT 05732.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Fair Haven Rescue Squad.
