Anita Medrano Salinas went home with our Heavenly Father on Sunday, January 14, 2024 at the age of 80.
She was preceded in death by both of her parents Margarito and Elidia Medina Medrano; husband Guadalupe Salinas; brothers Guadalupe, Guillermo, and Margarito Medrano; and son-in-law Rolando Escamilla.
Anita was born on January 7, 1944 in Mathis, Texas. She met her future husband Lupe at a dance and they later eloped in 1961. She raised their son Eddie and daughter Sandra in Mathis. She loved cooking and taking care of her plants. Anita was happiest when she had her family around her, especially her sister Florinda. She also loved the company of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Anita was always ready for a road trip and enjoyed attending whatever event she was invited to, especially if music or food was involved. If needed, she always had an ear to listen and wisdom to provide. She had a heart of gold and loved all those who entered her life. She was always ready to bless and pray for you or light a candle in your time of need.
Shortly before Anita's passing, she was honored with an 80th birthday celebration. There she was blessed with love and happiness as she shared her special day with family and friends from near and far. What better way to prepare for a grand exit than with a party surrounded by those who love you most.
Left to cherish Anita's memory are her son Eddie (Arlene) Salinas and daughter Sandra Escamilla; seven grandchildren Annette (DJ) Salinas, Joanna Salinas, Anadelle (Matthew) Bell, Klaryssa Escamilla, Kalli (Celeste) Escamilla, Eddie Salinas II, and Christian Salinas; and eight great-grandchildren Julianna Gonzales, Amillianna Goudeau, Tatiyanna Goudeau, Journee Goudeau, Jazzalyn Gonzales, Christian Bell, Carter Bell, and Camila Escamilla. She also leaves behind a sister, Florinda Zapata; and three brothers Baldemar, Amador, and Juan Medrano, as well as numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Anita's family would like to thank her caregiver and sister-in- law Carolina Moreno, as well as her daughter-in-law Arlene who lovingly helped her in home. Their patience and companionship are truly appreciated.
Visitation for Anita M. Salinas will be at 1:00 pm and Holy Rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm on Wednesday, January 17, 2024 at Dobie and Winsteads Funeral Home.
