Anita Avon (Logan) Moss, age 84, of Tumbling Shoals, Arkansas, passed away peacefully on
September 9, 2025, in Heber Springs. She was born on November 3, 1940, in Heber Springs to
the late Loren and Ella (Foust) Logan.
A lifelong resident of Tumbling Shoals, Avon shared her life's journey with her husband, O.B.
Moss, traveling across the country together for pipeline work, yet always keeping Tumbling
Shoals as home. She was a loving wife, devoted mother, cherished Mamaw, and loyal friend
whose kindness and gentle spirit touched everyone she met. One of Avon's greatest joys was her
family. Whether planning a holiday meal or cheering her children and grandchildren on at a
sporting event, Avon's family was always important. Even later in her life, she was quick to tell
stories about her great grandchildren.
Avon had a gift for cultivating beauty-whether through her flowerbeds, vegetable gardens, or
anything that bloomed. She was well known for homemade vegetable soup, and her kitchen and
table were always open to family and friends.
Faith was the foundation of Avon's life. She was a devoted member of Chastain Chapel Church,
where she taught Sunday School, worked in Vacation Bible School, and willingly served in any
way needed. Avon was also an avid bowler, a member of a bowling league, and a member of the
Order of the Eastern Star. In the early 1970s, she and her husband owned and operated Moss
One Stop, a family business that served their community.
Avon will be remembered as a sweet, caring, and gracious lady who lived a life of love, faith,
family, and devotion to others.
Avon is survived by her husband of 67 years, O.B. Moss; her sons, Marty Moss (Viki) and Travis
Moss; grandchildren, McKalie Durham (R.J.), McKade Moss (Katie), Tyler Moss, Arielle Reid
(Matt), and Linton McElroy; and great-grandchildren, Norah, Ethan, Anna Marie, Luke, and
Isaac. Avon also leaves behind her siblings, Merrill Logan (Shirley), Loretta Mounts (John), and
Ella Faye Westerman (Pete); her brother-in-law, Checky Moix; and a host of nieces, nephews,
and dear friends.
