family and caretaker. She was born at home on July 21, 1927, although records note her birthdate as July 20, 1927, after 2011. She is survived by her daughter, Donna (John, Sr., dec. 2022) Mudgett of Sharon, WI; two grandchildren, Brian Thomas of Gurnee, IL, and Megan (Brandon) Burkette of West Allis, WI; four step-grandchildren, Johnnie, Troy, Aaron (Kyleane) and Melanie Mudgett; great-granddaughter Rosalie Burkette, 14 step-great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Zelesnik on 8/13/2008, her brother Edward (Marge) Katich, sister-in-law Jennie "JZ" Zelesnik and many other relatives of her generation.She was a talented homemaker and legendary cook – especially her strudels and poticas. She loved to cook for family
and friends, and to bowl and polka with her husband. She and Ed were married on October 4, 1947, almost reaching
their 61st anniversary.
Visitation will be on Monday, October 13, 2025 from 5:00 -8:00 pm here at the funeral home and again on Tuesday, October 14, 2025 from 10:00 am until the time of service at 11:00 am. She will be entombed at Ascension Cemetery in Libertyville, IL.
