Ann M. Baird, age 101 of Hillsboro, passed away peacefully early Saturday morning April 26, 2025 at the Laurels of Hillsboro. Ann had a magnetic personality and if you met her you loved her. She was a very stylish and creative lady and spent much of her time doing crafts from sewing, knitting, to jewelry making. She was born August 29, 1923 in Valle Crucis, North Carolina, the daughter of the late Leonard and Rosie Bell (Townsend) Hodges. She is survived by two children, Elizabeth Cecile Baird of Hillsboro and Raymond Paul (Pam) Baird of Grovetown, Georgia; three grandchildren, Elizabeth (Allen) Morrison of Virginia, Tony Baird and Adrianne (Colin) Butler both of the US Virgin Islands; two step grandchildren, Vanessa (Brad) Jackson and James (Heather) Manahan both of Georgia; seven great grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren; two brothers Herman (Linda) Hodges of North Carolina and Russell Hodges of Tennessee; as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Fred Baird. In keeping with her wishes, she was cremated. The family will receive friends and family for a celebration of Anns life from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 7, 2025 at the Turner & Son Funeral Home in Hillsboro.
