Ann Barker, a beloved wife, mother, friend, and mentor, passed away leaving behind a legacy of warmth, laughter, and love. Born in Toledo, Ohio on December 31, 1970, Ann graduated from Cardinal Stritch High School in 1989. She went on to build a life filled with adventure and deep connections, marrying her devoted husband, Mike Barker, with whom she shared over 30 wonderful years. Together, they embarked on a journey that took them from Phoenix to Cincinnati before settling back in the Toledo area.
Since 2011, Ann dedicated herself to her work at Fostoria Community Hospital, where she was not only a valued employee but a compassionate presence for all who knew her. Her love for summer, sunglasses, and being outside reflected her joyful spirit. Known as the life of the party, Ann could make every day a celebration. She had a gift for bringing people together, especially the neighborhood kids, who always found a safe and welcoming space in her home.
Above all, being a mother was her greatest joy. She poured her heart into creating cherished memories, from planning yearly vacations to Florida, being a leader amongst all the sports moms, to simply sharing her contagious laughter.
She was a natural mentor, offering wisdom and understanding to anyone who needed it. She was funny, loving, and easy to talk to, embodying the role of the rock and heart of her home.
Ann's presence will be deeply missed, but the love she gave so freely will continue to inspire all those who were lucky enough to know her.
Ann is survived by her husband Mike and son Lleyton Barker; siblings Sheila (Richard) Cartwright and Michael Lacourse; nieces and nephews: Aaron (Kayla) Gelb, Miranda (Jady) Snyder, Leah Hill, Morgan Griffin, and Brodie Giffin; great-nephew Hayden Snyder.
She is preceded in death by her mother Rose Marie and brother James Lacourse.
Visitation will be held Thursday, May 22, 2025, at Sujkowski-Walker Funeral Home in Rossford from 2 PM to 8 PM. Funeral mass will be at 10:30 AM Friday, May 23 at All Saints Catholic Church, preceded by visitation at the church starting at 9:30 AM.
