Saying goodbye to the person you looked up to your whole life, the only other sibling on your family team, the person you fought with, ribbed constantly, but would defend with your life is one of the worst parts of this life. He was a constant since the day I was born. Letting him go was the greatest final act of love that I could do, knowing his broken heart would finally be healed and he would be reunited with his daughter.
Michael James Jameson, 62, of Rossford, Ohio passed away on Thursday, March 27, 2025 at Cleveland Clinic after recently being diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. His passing was peaceful and I'm certain Hailie was there, taking him by the hand and leading him home.
Mike, who was affectionately known by his family and friends as Jamo, was born in Oregon, Ohio on January 2, 1963 to Gerald "Buzz" Jameson and Julieann (Vasko) Jameson. He was a 1981 graduate of Cardinal Stritch High School.
Mike spent his early career at UPS as a driver but experienced a work related accident and decided that he wanted to put all of his energy into his side gig which was dj'ing events at the time. Mike became a literal legend in the city of Toledo and Northwest Ohio dj'ing at Buttons in Perrysburg, Henry J's, and Malibu's to name a few. He became a premier wedding dj, commanding guests to dancefloors for decades. He branched out into videography for weddings, providing clients with beautiful memories of their very special moments.
Mike was an excellent Dad and wanted nothing more than to be part of everything in his daughter's life. He coached her basketball teams from the time she was old enough to hold a basketball in her hands and would also coach the elementary and junior high boy's teams as well. His passion was basketball and sports and this led him to branch out to want to spotlight the kids as they got into high school sports. It was then that he found his calling. He loved broadcasting the kids, getting the games to people who weren't able to be there in person, spotlighting kids who might not get that opportunity on the big networks. Making the kids feel great about themselves was his goal. He loved what he did and the families and people that he met along the way. And he loved spending all of the time that he did with is crew, who he considered family.
Mike loved to create and had several local TV shows. He first launched the local home remodeling show, "Let's Fixer Up" over 20 years ago and has since shared his other life passions with TV shows featuring the best of NW Ohio boating and golf. Mike's weekly radio show, "The Sport's Show that Sucks" could be heard every Saturday morning on ESPN The Ticket, where over the years he has welcomed hundreds of guests to join him in talking about local events and of course, sports.
Mike is survived by his sister, Erin (Barry DeRan), nieces Hannah (Kody Fry) Wesley, Paige (Evan) Kosmider, Olivia (Giacomo) Wesley-Benvegnu. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Hailie Jameson, his mother Julieann Jameson, father Buzz Jameson, and grandparents.
I feel like Mike would want you to remember him or honor him by being kind. By being a giver. By remembering it doesn't cost you a thing to reach out and try to help someone with a friendly hello, with inclusion. Don't let someone be lonely. Make people smile. Every one of us is fighting some sort of battle. Reach out and be a friend.
And for those of you who were his friends, please know that man loved you to his core.
Mike will be cremated and interred with Hailie privately. Per Mike's wishes, there will not be a formal visitation at the funeral home. Mike wanted to have a gathering, a celebration of life. That information will be provided as soon as it is arranged. Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home will be handling Mikes final arrangements.

A wave of memories wash by from being neighbors on Wheeling Street - Julie your mom was a dear friend - Mike, Erin, Marty & Ginger memories and connections etc. Mike and I talked at least several times a year sharing life's challenges and opportunities. We talked the day he found Haley so heart breaking.
Mike did an amazing video of the inside of the Toledo Lighthouse. He was so excited about his boat. We had a mutual love of the water.
Will really miss him - being with Haley will bring him great joy but leaves a void for us here on earth. Erin thanks for being there for him - you guys grew closer through the years - your mom smiled a lot in these last years.

One of best basketball coaching memories while at Cardinal Stritch was coaching Mike. He loved the game and I always enjoyed our conversions over the years at basketball games. He will be missed!

There are those in this life we walk, we don't have to meet to know them. Mike Jameson was such a person. He shared with us his many struggles with his enterprises and with those of health. Mike celebrated with others, their joys with weddings and successes in sports. His ego was hidden by a personality that serviced the needs of many, many he didn't have to meet to know. No better a measure of a man's life than that which Mike Jameson lived. He lived for others like me. I didn't have to meet him, for me to know Mike Jameson. It's God's turn now.

Oh, Jamo. You brought happiness to so many. I loved walking into Moe's and seeing my seat saved with an almost empty glass of cranberry juice, a trick I started to use. I loved the 'Good Morning, Dork' messages you always managed to send on the mornings I really needed a friend. I loved the way we could laugh together no matter what either of us were going through. I'm so thankful that I got to know you, you will be forever missed.

The Ueberroth family would like for Mike's sister and the rest of his family to know (as if they don't already know) what a very special guy Mike was. What a loss for all of us.
You don't find many guys like Mike these days. I do not believe that Mike ever had a bad word or thought for anyone, kindness at it's best.
I am sure that God has a very special place in Heaven for him .
And to you Mike, God's speed and bless you.

Erin and family, what a beautiful and loving tribute to your brother. Mike (Jamo) certainly deserves everything that you wrote. A year ago this month he was helping my husband, myself and our daughter create the perfect video for our son's funeral and Celebration of Life. I have known Mike since his days at Stritch, have seen him d-jaying, broadcasting and playing basketball. He is one of the really good guys and a friend to so many. His broken heart over the loss of his daughter was so evident anytime we were with him. We are so very sorry for your loss.

Hired Jamo to sell advertising on WOHO/3WM soon after his stint with UPS. We became friends(more like father & son). That relationship continued. He would call and we would solve the world´s problems. We played 30 and over basketball together even though he was younger. We were always there for each other. Gonna miss you a ton Jamo.

Mike - my buddy, my bestie, my rock. I´m
grateful for all the fun times we had yet feel robbed of all the things we had planned. You literally saved my life last year and I feel like I did the same for you. You gave me an opportunity to feel confident in broadcasting and DJing and omg did we have fun. Thank you for loving my kiddos. I will miss the laughs and silly times. It just isn´t the same without our daily calls. I did not want the "captain of the ship" label but I´ll do it for us now together. I hope your heaven is absolutely amazing.
