Christopher N. Coutcher, age 61, of Oak Harbor, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, October 25, 2025. Born on June 6, 1964, in Toledo, Ohio, he was the cherished son of Olin and Barbara (Hansen) Coutcher.A graduate of Waite High School, Bud proudly dedicated his career as a boilermaker, serving with Local #85 for an impressive 35 years before his recent retirement. His professional life was marked by a strong work ethic and a commitment to his trade, earning him respect within the community.Bud was not only known for his skills but also for his sociable nature. He had a remarkable ability to engage with others, and his friendly demeanor allowed him to connect with many people, especially at the Wild Wings Campground where he spent countless joyful moments. If you didn’t know him when you met, you knew all about him by the end of the night. He found great joy out at the lake, frequently indulging in his passion for fishing. Bud took pride in his ability to clean and filet his catches.
Bud was an avid University of Michigan and Minnesota Viking football fan and proudly wore their colors on game-day. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
Bud is survived by his siblings, William (Linda) Coutcher, Becky (Mark) McGee, Kenneth (Julie) Coutcher, and Brenda (Kelsey) Zeller; proud uncle to 18 nieces and nephews; and many extended family members. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Daniel Coutcher.
Family and friends may visit at Freck Funeral Chapel 1155 S Wynn Rd. in Oregon, Ohio, on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. where funeral services will be held at 5:00 p.m. A dinner will follow at the Boilermalers Local 85 Hall, 319 Glenwood Rd, Rossford, OH 43460.
