Ann Forsberg Barker, 81, of Newton, Utah died Sunday, February 22, 2026 at home.
Ann was born March 24, 1944 in
Logan, Utah, to David Fredrick and Lucy Bowen Forsberg. The Forsbergs moved to Black Canyon, Idaho when Ann was in 2nd grade. Ann graduated from Middleton High School and attended Ricks College.
Ann married Dennis Jerry Barker in the Logan Temple on November 5, 1963. They were blessed with six children as they established homes in Rexburg, Idaho; Taylorsville, South Jordan, and Newton, Utah, throughout their 62 years together.
Ann had a kind heart and loved to serve others. She impacted many lives as she served in numerous callings in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, including Primary, Young Women, and Relief Society She received a lot of joy from teaching the 16-18-yr-old Sunday School class in her later years. She enjoyed her work caring for many women in her own "beauty shop" in the basement of the South Jordan home. Ann and Dennis spent many years working to build a successful dairy farm in Newton, and during the 25 years she drove a school bus for Cache County School District she served thousands of children, transporting them safely between school and home, as well as creating an annual Learn-About-the-Bus party for incoming Kindergartners and their parents.
She was a voracious reader and delighted in sharing her love of reading with her children, grandchildren, children on her bus, and anyone else who would discuss books with her. She enjoyed music and sang with various choirs, leading a few, throughout her life. She was an excellent seamstress; she loved to crochet and quilt, and her children and grandchildren, and many others were recipients of her beautiful creations.
Ann is preceded in death by her parents, sisters Addie and Carol, and brother-in-law Raymond. She is survived by her husband, Dennis; her children Teri (Kevin), Troy (Loana), Travis, Tanna, Tyson (Lisa), Trisha (Damon); 16 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; brothers Glen (Cheryl) and Lynn (Penny) and sister Gayle (Mitch). Her testimony of Christ and choosing and doing right were unshakable. She was a devoted wife and mother who taught her family lessons of love, faith, generosity, integrity, and diligent work.
