We sadly announce the passing of our mother, Ann Bichler. Ann passed away peacefully at the age of 94 on Thursday, Thanksgiving Day, November 27, 2025, at Fargo Elim in Fargo, ND. Her last moments were marked by tranquility and the warmth of the holiday.
The service will take place at St. Anne Catholic Church, 1321 Braman Ave, Bismarck, ND on Thursday, December 4, 2025, at 10:00 am. Visitation will be one hour prior.
Ann was born on a farm west of Linton, ND on February 28, 1931, to Peter and Katherine (Deisz) Sehn. Ann graduated from a country school in Linton and moved to Bismarck with her family at age 14, starting work as a server at the Bus Depot Café. In 1947, she returned to Linton to support her family, working at Fairway Grocery. She met her soul mate, Joe Bichler, at a dance in 1947; love at first sight. On October 12, 1948, Ann was married to Joe Bichler at St. Anthony’s Church in Linton, ND. They briefly farmed with Joe’s parents Mary and Mike Bichler for one year, then rented a farm west of Linton for eleven years, subsequently purchasing a farm seventeen miles southwest of Linton. They only lived on that farm for one year, keeping the farm, but moving and renting another farm four miles southwest of Linton for 31 years. Joe and Ann raised seven children on these farms. They moved to a farm near McDowell Dam east of Bismarck in 1991 and stayed for 15 years. After living in Bismarck until December 2, 2022, they moved to Fargo Elim/Pioneer House assisted living in Fargo, ND.
Ann was known for her excellent cooking, earning her home the nickname “Ann’s Kitchen.” She always welcomed guests with homemade meals and cherished time spent with her loving children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. She was known for her generosity, kind heart, bringing light and laughter into every room. Her unwavering support, wisdom, and warmth enriched the lives of her family and all those around her. Ann faced life's challenges bravely and continually found ways to help others, even in tough times. Whether it was through a gentle word, a helping hand, or a moment shared, her presence was a cherished gift and will be missed dearly.
