Ann “Ree” Braswell, 90, of Elm City passed away Friday, May 16, 2025. A celebration of her life will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday, May 20, 2025, with family receiving friends immediately following at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 21, 2025, in Evergreen Memorial Park, Wilson. Rev. Carroll Bradbury will officiate.
Ree was retired from R.H. Donelly, Fike High School Administrative Offices, and worked with the County Bus Division. She was active in her church and served her Lord faithfully. Ree loved to work in her yard, she was an exceptional cook and loved cooking for her family and church. Ree was a devoted wife and mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother and friend to all who knew her. Ree will be greatly missed and thought of often with wonderful memories, and a smile we will always remember.
Ree is survived by her loving husband of seventy-two years, Tommy Braswell; daughters, Barbara “Babs” Ayers and husband, Russell of Pinetops, and Lorraine Whitfield and husband, Tommy of Wilson; son, Greg Braswell and wife, Tammy of Wilson; grandchildren, Heather Krueger and husband, Derrick, Kelly Bradshaw and husband, Carl and Jennifer Walston and husband, Lee; great-grandchildren, Easton and Mason Krueger, Ashton, Alex and Autumn Bradshaw, and Breanna Walston, and her great-great-grandchild, Stephen Pittman.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John Owens and Blanche Owens Wiggs.
The family would like to express their thanks to 3HC for their care, compassion and love that was given to Ree and family.
