Ann Craven

Graveside Services for Mrs. Ann L. Craven, age 88 of Lineville, will be held on Saturday, October 4, 2025 at 11:00 A.M. at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Claude Bennett officiating.

Mrs. Craven passed away on Wednesday, October 1, 2025 at her home. She was born and raised in Clay County, was on the Lineville High School Basketball team and a Lineville High School graduate. She married her husband, Pervis Craven out of High School and then moved to Marietta, Georgia in 1956 for work. While living in Georgia, Mrs. Craven worked for Sears, Aterman Foods, and eventually retired from K-Mart after 15 years. She moved back to Clay County in 1993 with her husband after 50 years. Mrs. Craven enjoyed going Bowling with her girlfriends, playing tennis, and collected Hummingbird and Elephant figurines. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and sitting on her back porch looking at the lake. She was very social and could talk to anyone. She cared a lot specifically about her neighbors, and enjoyed catching up with them on the phone. In her later years while fighting Health issues, her faith never wavered and she never gave up. She fought to the very end, and her family will always remember her for that. She was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church was a loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother, and Great-Grandmother.

Mrs. Craven is survived by her son, Mike Craven (Kelly K.) of Lineville; two granddaughters: Stephanie K. Tyson (Michael) and Kandice M. Lambert (Dewayne); and three great-grandchildren: Michael B. Tyson, Kallie M. Lambert, and Eleanor Grace Tyson.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Curtis and Eva Price Griffin; her husband, Pervis Craven; and her daughter, Debbie Craven.

Active Pallbearers will be Michael Tyson, Dewayne Lambert, John Morgan, Rick Jiles, Mike Jiles, and Justin Sellers. Michael B. Tyson will serve as an honorary Pallbearer.

Her visitation will take place on Friday, October 3, 2025 at Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville beginning at 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.
