Ann Tartagni Davis, 97, of Elizabeth City, NC passed away Sunday, March 1, 2026, in the presence of family at Brookdale Assisted Living, where she received loving care over the past three years.
Born Anna Maria Giuseppina Pierina Tartagni on December 14, 1928, in Genoa, Italy, she was the daughter of Primo and Giulia Tartagni. She was raised in West Haven, CT, alongside her five brothers and sisters. Over the years, Ann worked in the office of Dr. William Hoggard, at Norfolk Carolina Telephone Company, and later at Carolina Assisted Living.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Davis; daughter, Nancy Meads; daughter-in-law Chiki Davis; and her two brothers, Sonny Tartagni and Joe (Carol) Tartagni.
She is survived by her son, Paul Davis of Elizabeth City, NC; daughter, Julee (Phil) Bambrick of Flowery Branch, GA; son-in-law, Barkwell Meads of Elizabeth City, NC; sister-in-law, Jeannie Tartagni; and sisters, Elma Korzick, Emma Prunier and Betty (Joe) Jasiorkowski.
Ann was a devoted grandmother to five grandchildren: Graham (Jocelyn) Davis of Elizabeth City, NC; Adam (Jessica) Bambrick of Waterford, VA; Christen (Chris) Bambrick Warren of Statham, GA; Jake Pritchard of Wilmington, NC; and Katie (Brandon) Brickhouse of Elizabeth City, NC.
She was blessed with twenty-three great-grandchildren: Lorraine and Addie Davis; Bethany, Hannah, Lincoln, Epps, Clara, Patrick, Calvin, Justice, Elliot, Arthur, Moses, Lewis, Liberty and Savannah Bambrick; Alice, Caleb and Vince Warren; Luke, Sam, Jack and Gracie Brickhouse.
Ann leaves a legacy of prayerful devotion to those she loved, along with cherished and joyful memories of her sassy spirit.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
