Ann Galipault Obituary

Ann Marie Galipault
"Beloved wife, mother, sister and aunt"
Waterbury, CT
Ann Marie (Sette) Galipault, 84, of Waterbury, entered into the gates of Heaven on Monday, March 16, 2026 at Cook Willow Nursing Home in Plymouth.
Born on August 15, 1941, in Waterbury, Connecticut, she was the daughter of the late Giovanni and Anna (Santopietro) Sette. A lifelong resident of Waterbury, she spent her entire life in the same close-knit neighborhood where she was born and raised, a place filled with family, memories, and deep roots. Her childhood home stood just behind her own, a symbol of the strong family ties that defined her life.
She was the beloved wife of the late Donald R. Galipault, with whom she shared 57 wonderful years of marriage. He passed away on April 9, 2021. Their love was well known to those around them, he truly worshiped the ground she walked on. Since his passing almost five years ago, she missed him dearly and carried his memory close to her heart.
She was a devoted mother to John A. Galipault and his wife Carmella of New Hartford and Lisa Miller of Torrington. Family was always the center of her life, and she treasured time spent with her Italian family during holidays and gatherings. In addition to her children, she is survived by several nieces and nephews.
Her two sisters, Polly Sette and Rose Daddona, both predeceased her and lived next door to her their entire lives. The sisters shared a lifelong bond and countless memories together. She especially enjoyed her weekly shopping trips with her sister Polly and treasured visits to Florida with her sister Rose and brother-in-law Fred.
She also shared a very special bond with her two nieces, Rosanne Skrip and Bernadette Jenson and their families. They held a cherished place in her heart, and she loved being a part of their lives and watching their families grow over the years.
After graduating from Wilby High School, she attended secretarial school, where she earned recognition for being the best and fastest typist. Over the years she held several positions while also dedicating herself to her family and home. She worked as a pizza maker for ten years, spent many years working in retail, and later served as a secretary at both a doctor's office and a Catholic school for a combined 15 years. She also worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant for 15 years, caring for others with compassion and dedication. Throughout her 57-year marriage, she proudly embraced her role as a housewife, creating a warm and loving home for her family.
She found joy in life's simple pleasures. She loved playing cards, listening to her vinyl records, and playing the organ and accordion. She enjoyed trips to the casino, weekly hair appointments, and shopping, especially watching and ordering from QVC. In quieter moments, she loved watching soap operas and her favorite programs on the Hallmark Channel.
She loved dogs, had no patience for bugs, and enjoyed traveling to some of her favorite places including Florida, Las Vegas, and Cape Cod.
She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
