Ann Hagstrom Obituary

Published by Legacy on Jan. 12, 2025.
Ann Marie Hagstrom, of Glenwood Minnesota, went home to her Lord and Savior on Saturday, January 11th, 2025, at the Glenwood Retirement Village. A Memorial Service celebrating Ann's life will be held, Friday, January 17th at 2:00 p.m. at the Hoplin-Hitchcock Funeral Chapel in Glenwood with Pastor Katrina Hoffman officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Inurnment will be at Nora Cemetery in the summer. Arrangements are with the Hoplin-Hitchcock Funeral Home in Glenwood.
Ann was born February 15th, 1944 in Menahga MN, to Joe and Ila Mae Hubbell. She grew up in Loman Minnesota, and graduated from Indus High School in 1962.
She married Larry Miles on June 16th, 1962. In their early years, they lived in the International Falls area, and were blessed with 2 children, Teresa and Joseph. Shortly after Joe was born, they moved to Starbuck Minnesota, where they began their farming life.
Ann and Larry moved to the Kensington area in the winter of 1973, and this is where they raised their family.
Ann married David Hagstrom on August 30th, 1986 and was blessed by the blending of their two families. They had a loving relationship, and enjoyed traveling, working in the yard, and spending time with family. They moved to Glenwood in 2004, where David passed in 2005.
She had many different jobs over the years, starting with cleaning cabins, working in grocery stores, and eventually settling into clerical/office work. Her last employer was American Solutions for Business.
After retirement, Ann enjoyed mowing her lawn, taking care of flowers, watching the birds and the area cats. While she was always very proud of Teri and Joe, her greatest pleasure was spending time with her granddaughter Maria. She even went as far as Kentucky, to watch Maria compete in archery events.
Ann's most successful career was as a very loving mother and grandmother. She was a wonderful cook and you considered yourself lucky if you were given a plate of her homemade Christmas goodies. Thanksgiving meals and roast beef dinners were a couple of her specialties, and always greatly anticipated by her family.
Ann is survived by her children: Teresa (Bill) Burns, Joe (Dawn) Miles, and granddaughter Maria Burns. And David's children: Sheila (Gary) Magnuson, Nancy (Bryan) Anderson, Paul Hagstrom, Cynthia (Matt) Revering and their many children and great grandchildren, and sister-in-law Ruby Dalum.
We know that Ann was welcomed home by her parents, siblings, husband and step-son Mark, and many other friends and family.
