Ann K. Hanewich, 90, Kingston, MA, passed away peacefully on September 3, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Providence, Rhode Island, in 1935. Ann was the wife of the late Harold F. "Chet" Hanewich, until his passing on August 2, 2024.
A devout Catholic throughout her life, Ann lived her faith daily, grounding her family in the traditions, values, and compassion that shaped who they are today. Her deep spirituality was matched by her unwavering love for her family and her belief in the power of prayer.
Ann was the proud and devoted mother of eight children: Michael and his wife Susan of Hopkinton, Mark and his wife Sharon of Nokomis Florida, Timothy and his wife Lisa of Sarasota Florida, Christopher and his wife Deb of North Attleboro, Thomas "Ty"and wife Beth Ann of Cumming, Georgia, John and his wife Katrina of Cotuit, James and his wife Cindy of Wrentham, and Julie McDonald and her husband Dan of Bridgewater. In addition to her eight children, she also leaves 22 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren who will hold her memory in their hearts forever. Ann's legacy is one of love, faith, and resilience.
In her final years, Ann found joy, comfort and companionship at Wingate Living in Kingston, MA, her senior living community, where she formed deep and meaningful friendships. The love and support she received and gave within that close knit circle became a cherished part of her life.
A private family funeral service will be celebrated at Shepherd Funeral Home in Kingston MA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ann's memory to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute https://www.dana-farber.org/how-you-can-help/ways-to-give/make-a-memorial-or-tribute-gift.
