In Loving Memory of Laurie Lynn Lowell
October 9, 1960 – August 27, 2025
Laurie Lynn Lowell of Carver, Massachusetts passed away unexpectedly on August 27, 2025. She was 64. Born in Brockton on October 9, 1960, she graduated from Stoughton High School in 1978 and later attended the Swain School of Design in New Bedford, where she nurtured her remarkable artistic talents.
Laurie worked for 35 years at Tech-Etch in Plymouth, where she was known for her attention to detail, independence, and quiet strength.
Fiercely private and entirely her own person, Laurie lived life on her own terms. She found her deepest companionship in the animals she loved with her whole heart-her cat Thomas, her loyal Blue Heeler dog, Nip, and her cherished Haflinger horse Ned. Her animals were her true family, and she gave them a life filled with care and unconditional love.
A gifted artist, Laurie completed many commissioned works, including murals that brought life and color to the spaces around her. Her creativity was matched by a sharp wit and a deep loyalty to the few she held close. She cherished quiet moments, playing phone games with her sister Melanie, sharing her love of Korean food with her little sister Julie, and spending meaningful time in Maine with her dear friend Caryn. Her equestrian community-her "horse family"-held a special place in her heart.
Laurie is survived by her sisters, Melanie Beach of Deltona, Florida (and her husband Larry), and Julie Lowell of South Easton, MA; her dear friend Mrs. Buck, with whom she shared a love of horses; her longtime roommate and close friend Steven Deming; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents, John and Julia (Bassett) Lowell, and her sister, Kellie Jean.
Per Laurie's wishes, she has been cremated, and no formal services will be held. However, her sister Julie is hosting a celebration of life to honor Laurie's memory, giving friends and loved ones who wish to attend a space to reflect, share stories, and say goodbye. Sunday, September 14, 2025 Pembroke Community Center 128 Center St, Pembroke, MA 11:30-1:30.
In honor of her lifelong devotion to animals, donations may be made to an animal charity of your choice in her name.
Laurie was not one to seek the spotlight or social gatherings-she valued authenticity, solitude, and the quiet companionship of the creatures she adored. Though she walked a path less traveled, she walked it with integrity, and those who truly knew her will remember her for exactly who she was: deeply artistic, loyal in her own way, and entirely herself.
