On March 5, 2025, we lost a remarkable woman-Ann Rae Hasting. Her life was filled with love, laughter, and an unwavering devotion to family and friends. Ann was not only a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother but also a cherished friend, a passionate learner, and a woman whose warmth and laughter filled every room she entered.
Born on May 16, 1947, to Ray and Vera Roller in Sapulpa, Oklahoma. Ann also had a brother Don Roller and family of Tulsa. Ann grew up with a love for learning and a deep appreciation for history, archaeology, and the beauty of the world around her. She graduated from Liberty Mounds High School in 1965 and went on to study at Northeastern University in Tahlequah, where she met the love of her life, Mike Hasting. Their love story began in 1968, and together, they built a life filled with love, adventure, and family for 56 wonderful years.
Ann and Mike were blessed with two daughters, Tammie Leverington and Chandra Couch. Her love for her daughters was immeasurable, and she poured her heart into raising them with kindness, strength, and unwavering support. She was also a proud grandmother to McKenzie Anderson and Nicholas McAmis, and nothing brought her more joy than watching them grow and succeed.
Ann dedicated 20 years of her life as a legal secretary, earning numerous accolades for her hard work and dedication. But her passion for learning never faded, and later in life, she pursued and earned her bachelor's degree in education-a testament to her perseverance and love for knowledge.
Beyond her accomplishments, Ann was a woman of joy and generosity. She loved animals, music, and dancing. She had a deep appreciation for archaeology, geology, and history, always eager to share fascinating stories or facts. But above all, she loved people. Her vivacious spirit and sense of humor made her the life of every gathering, and her ability to bring joy to those around her was truly a gift.
Ann's absence leaves a void that cannot be filled, but her legacy lives on in the hearts of those who loved her. She taught the importance of laughter, the beauty of curiosity, and the value of love. Her memory will forever be cherished, not with sadness, but with gratitude for the time shared, the love given, and the countless moments of joy.
Rest in peace, Ann. You were deeply loved, and you will never be forgotten.
