Ann Marie Hildebrand

Ann Marie Hildebrand was born in Pontiac, Michigan, on April 8, 1938. She passed away peacefully on November 11, 2025. A proud graduate of Michigan State University, she began a career in social work, specifically foster care, adoptions, and neglect. Always craving temperatures above 80 degrees, she happily moved from Michigan to New Port Richey, Florida in 1971. In a climate more suited to her, she raised her two sons, volunteered in community events, and was elected to the Pasco County Commission in 1984. She served 28 years, including six terms as the Chairman of the Board.

Known as a moderate Republican who focused on social services, she was very proud of promoting and building roads, parks, libraries, and clinics, and always looking toward families' quality of life. She was dedicated to making Pasco a community home for all residents. A repeated quote of hers was, "The community does not come to you; rather you get involved in the community and work to make it a better place." It was her honor to serve on the boards of several organizations, including Good Samaritan Clinic and Pace Center for Girls, and she was very humbled to receive multiple public service and humanitarian awards. Ann proudly protected Pasco's water rights, serving on Tampa Bay Water Authority, and she was honored to be named Queen Chasco in 1989.

Ann's happy places included Lake Martin, Anclote Island, shopping, and gatherings across Pasco. Her final months were peaceful and happy at The Monarch House in Newnan, where she received excellent care from the team, together with Guiding Light Hospice. Ann is survived by her sons, Lance (grandson, James), and Clay (daughter-in-law, Christi). In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to your favorite charity in her name.
