Age 93, of Pittsburgh, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 7, 2025, surrounded by her family. She was born on May 19, 1932, the daughter of the late John J. Jurgovsky and Mary Ferko. She had 9 siblings: John Jurgovsky, Sophia Kroll, Mary Kisak, Irene Dunn, Cecilia Walsh, Charles Jurgovsky and Andrew Jurgovsky, all deceased. Also baby Rose who died at 2 years old whom she never forgot. Ann worked at AT&T for 30 years and then became a Practical Nurse after the age of 50. She graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a Psychology Degree after 7 years of night school. In her day, she liked to hike, cycle and swim as well as went to the "spa" as she called it! She was a Christian woman who cared for neighbors and was devoted to her family. She was community minded and worked at St. Paul of the Cross Monastery helping at the food bank for more than a decade and prior to that, decades at Meals on Wheels in Arlington. Ann was Judge of elections for many years. In June of 2007, she received the Community Service Award by the Arlington Civic Council. She is survived by 18 nieces and nephews and their spouses and 34 great nieces and nephews and also great-great nieces and nephews. She had numerous great friends over the many years! Her last few months were spent at Asbury Villas where she enjoyed the activities and sitting on the front porch chatting with neighbors. Her doctors were impressed with her and everyone was impressed with her strong will and generosity. Ann was fearless and always up for a challenge. There wasn't a more caring and loyal aunt who loved life and was the matriarch of the Jurgovsky clan. Her spirit lives on in those she cared for during her long life. Friends received at Thomas J. Gmiter Funeral Home, 2323 E. Carson St. Thursday from 10:00 AM until time of Blessing Service at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow in Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
