Ann M. (Youmans) Knapp
Elmira- Ann M. Knapp, aged 70 years, formerly of Arnold Ave., Horseheads, NY, passed away peacefully at the Chemung County Nursing Facility on March 27, 2022 following declining health. Ann was predeceased by her parents, Bert A. Youmans and Jacqueline (Kemp) Youmans and her brother, Thomas H. Youmans, all of Horseheads. Ann was born in Corning, NY, November 24, 1951, grew up in Horseheads and graduated from Horseheads High School in 1971. Ann is survived by William E. Knapp, the father of her children, as well as her sons, James B. (Brenda) Knapp and Kyle W. (Sarah) Knapp along with her 4 grandchildren, Isabella, Jimmy, Korbin and Odin, the shining treasures of her life on this earth, also three very dear nephews as well as her sister-in-law, MaryJo Youmans. Ann also leaves behind her closest friends, Diane Hughes and Kathleen Graham. A heartfelt 'Thank You' from our family to the many staff members at The CCNF who provided exceptional care to our loved one. At Ann's request, there will be a celebration of her life at the home of Bill Knapp, 459 West First St., Elmira, NY on Monday, April 4, 2022 at 4pm with The Rev. Gary Brinn officiating. Interment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers it is suggested donations be made in Ann's memory to either The Ukraine Relief Fund, c/o The Park Church, 208 W. Gray St., Elmira, NY 14901, made out to: The Park Church, or to a charity of one's choice.
