Suzanne K. "Sue" Gilbert

Suzanne "Sue" Gilbert, 89, formerly of Elmira, New York, unexpectedly passed away Monday, February 9, 2026. Suzanne was predeceased by her husband of 51 years, Charles Gilbert; her parents, Francis Keigler and Sylvia and Perry Chamberlain; two sisters, Marian Brewer, Donna Finnerty. Suzanne is survived by her son, David Gilbert; daughter and son-in-law, Tracy and Nicholas Harbol; two grandchildren, Lily and Lucas; sister, Vera Harmon; several nieces and nephews. Sue worked as a teachers aide with the Elmira City School District. She enjoyed gardening, baking and was caregiver to several family members. The family will receive friends Saturday, February 14, 2026, from 10:00 to 11:45 a.m. with funeral services immediately following at 12:00 p.m. at the Estey, Munroe & Fahey Funeral Home, 15 Park Street, Owego, New York with Pastor Jay Geistdorfer, officiating. Burial will be held privately in the Fitzsimmons Cemetery, Elmira, New York.
