Ann Lewis Obituary

Ann Elliott Lewis passed away March 3, 2026. She is survived by her sons, John Macy Lewis DDS (Wanda) and Walter Elliott Lewis both of Wichita; and grandchildren, Paul Lewis, DDS, Sarah Winterscheidt (Hank), and Luke Lewis. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Walter Macy Lewis of Gate, Oklahoma; and parents, Isaac and Frances Mood of Collingswood, NJ. Her family was a great delight in Anns' life.

Ann was raised in Collingswood, New Jersey and was a graduate of Moorestown Friends School, Earlham College, and earned a master's degree at the University of Pennsylvania. She enjoyed researching family history and was a member of lineage societies including The National Society of The Colonial Dames of America, Daughters of the American Revolution (50-year member), Daughters of the American Colonists, and Jamestowne Society. Ann was a gracious hostess for family and friends gatherings. In later years, she supplied the table decorations for the monthly luncheon meetings of her lineage societies then shared the abundance of decorations with ministries when her days of homemaking ended.

She was a Sunday School teacher for over 30 years and designed bulletin boards for the church children's department for another 20 years. Her faith in Jesus was evident to all who knew her and her kindness was a gift she freely shared.

Visitation with the family will be from 6 to 8 pm, Thursday, March 12, 2026, at Downing & Lahey East Mortuary. The funeral service will be at 11 am, Friday, March 13, 2026, at Eastminster Presbyterian Church, 1958 N. Webb Road, Wichita. Internment at Kensington Gardens, Wichita.

Memorials are established with Friends University, 2100 W. University, Wichita, KS 67213, and the Salvation Army, 350 N. Market, Wichita, KS 67202.

What a privilege it was to know her and to call her friend. We were members of Randolph Loving DAR, Jane Peebles Sexton DAC and Kansas Dames for many years together. She was always generous with her time and energy (especially for new members!) and so much fun to sit with at the meetings. Our loss is heaven“s gain.
