Ann Marcum Obituary

She was born Loretta Ann Shanks on March 22, 1936 in Oldham County, Kentucky, daughter of James and Elsie Rawlings Shanks. Ann was retired from Ford Motor Company. She was a skilled needleworker and won several Kentucky State Fair Blue Ribbons for her needlepoint pieces. A lover of animals and children, Ann was affectionately called Memaw by many. She enjoyed playing Bunco with friends and cheering for the U of L Cardinals.
In addition to her parents, Ann was preceded in death by her children, Mike Marcum, Kim Silvers and Connie Ray; and siblings, Wesley Shanks, Margie Warman and Jimmy Shanks.
Survivors include her sisters, Vannatta Jernigan, Dee DeVincentis and Carole Tamms; grandchildren; great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Her funeral is 3pm Saturday, November 29, 2025 at Fern Creek Funeral Home, 5406 Bardstown Road. Visitation is after 1pm until the time of the service.
