Ann (Nancy) McGloin, 89, of Peoria, AZ, passed away peacefully on November 9, 2025 just weeks before her 90th birthday. Known as Nancy to her family and friends, she was proceeded in death by her husband and best friend Peter Joseph McGloin. They had been married for 57 years. Nancy is survived by her children and their spouses: Kevin (Lynn), Noreen Hu (David), Timothy, and Matthew (Maria). Nancy is also survived by grandchildren and their spouses: Aaron McGloin, Christopher McGloin (Megan), Ann Bakemeier (Luca), Benjamin Hu, Madeline Do (Khai), Joshua Hu, Kaitlyn McGloin, Amanda McGloin, Kristen Lyons and Kori Lyons as well as great- grandchildren Landon McGloin, Jordyn McGloin, Anthony Lyons, Claire Bakemeier, Carson Bakemeier and Chloe Bakemeier.
Nancy was born on December 3, 1935 in Bronx, New York to Stephen Martin, Sr. and Marion Milesi. She grew up in New Rochelle, New York where she was educated in Catholic schools and went on to secretarial school. After graduation, Nancy worked in both mid-town Manhattan and Washington DC, while Pete was in the Army working at the Pentagon in the late 1950's. After the Army, they moved back to New York to start a family. In the summer of 1969, Nancy and her family moved to Phoenix where Nancy and Pete raised their family. Nancy primarily worked at home raising the family.
A life-long Catholic, Nancy had a deep devotion to the Blessed Mother and the Rosary. She was an active member of St. Jerome Catholic Church and School serving as a religious education teacher and a Eucharistic minister. She participated and volunteered at many events over the years at both the parish and school. Nancy along with her husband Pete were always in attendance at their children's and grandchildren's sporting, dance, and musical events. Nancy was not only a beloved wife and a positive influence as a role model for her children and grandchildren but for her children's friends as well. She opened her home to her children's friends providing for a welcoming environment. Nancy enjoyed gardening and maintained a vibrant collection of house plants. Later in life Nancy became an avid reader, enjoyed watching baseball and was hard to beat in the card game "Go Fish."
A viewing and scripture service will be held from 5:00-7:00 PM on Friday, November 14, 2025 at Hansen Mortuary, 8314 N. 7th Street,
Phoenix, AZ 85020 with the scripture service at 6:15 PM. A Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated at 9:00 AM on Saturday, November 15, 2025 at St. Jerome Catholic Church, 10815 N. 35th Avenue,
Phoenix, AZ. Private interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery, 10045 W. Thomas Road, Avondale, AZ.
