Gertrude “Ann” Roberts, born on September 26, 1940, in Frederick County, Virginia, passed away peacefully on July 19, 2024, at the age of 83. Known to many as "Miss Ann," she was a pillar of strength, faith, and kindness, living her life in service to others through her Holiness faith.
Ann's greatest love was her husband, Sherrill Roberts, to whom she was a devoted caretaker and loving partner in his later years. Ann was a giving and selfless person who loved her family deeply. Her greatest joy came from doting on her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought her immense happiness. Ann’s nurturing spirit and endless support provided a solid foundation for her family, ensuring that they felt loved and cared for every day.
Ann had a generous heart, always finding joy in giving gifts to her loved ones. Her thoughtful presents were tokens of her love, carefully chosen to bring smiles and happiness. She had a unique ability to make every celebration special, adding her personal touch to every gift and making her family feel cherished.
Ann was an accomplished seamstress, beloved by the communities of Biloxi and Woolmarket, who created beautiful and unique fashion for the public for nearly 50 years. She worked for Quick Clean Center for 39 years, where she specialized in military alterations. Her warm, generous spirit and skillful hands touched the lives of many.
Preceded in death by her husband, Sherrill; infant son, Rodney Roberts; parents, William Henry and Ruby Mills; sister, Jeanette Loper (Paul); nephew, Randy Loper; and sister, Lola Tatum (Oscar), Ann leaves behind a loving family who will miss her dearly. She is survived by her daughter, Cheryl Roberts Broadus (Terry); son, Ronnie Wayne Roberts; devoted daughter-in-law, Lori Roberts; grandsons, Ricky Wayne Conley (Lindsey), Jack Lee Conley (Julie), and Ronnie Wayne Roberts II (Amber); granddaughter, Bailie Marie Roberts; great-grandchildren, Tyler and Celia Conley, Eli and Lucy Conley, and Tyson and Lainey Roberts. She is also survived by her loving brother William Henry Mills II (Gwen), and numerous dedicated nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at the Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 24, 2024 at 11:00 AM. Friends may visit one hour prior. Interment will follow at Coalville Cemetery in Woolmarket.
Ann will be remembered for her selflessness, love for her family, and the countless lives she touched through her generosity and compassion. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
The family would like to thank Ms. Lela and Ms. Melissa (caretakers), the staff of The Blake, and the nurses and staff of Gulfport Memorial ICU for their impeccable care.
