Ann Mongillo Obituary

Ann D. Mongillo
October 23, 1930 - January 16, 2026
Ann D. Mongillo, 95, of Cheshire, formerly of New Haven, passed away on January 16, 2026, at MidState Medical Center. She was predeceased by her sisters, Clorinda "School Girl" Ruocco, Mary Nacca, Louise Carpentino, Lorraine Celentano, and her brothers, John, Frank, Joseph and Anthony Mongillo. She is survived by several nieces and nephews. Ann was born in New Haven, on October 23, 1930, daughter of the late Louis and Vittoria Caruso Mongillo. She was a devoted Catholic, whose faith guided her throughout her life. She was an avid ball player, passionate about softball, and a loyal supporter of her beloved UCONN girls and the Yankees. Ann believed deeply in doing for others and living a selfless life, always caring for her family members with unwavering dedication. Her commitment to service was evident in the countless hours and years she spent volunteering at the Clelian Center in Hamden. In her later years, Ann found a wonderful home at Elim Park in Cheshire, where the staff became her second family. The family extends heartfelt thanks to everyone at Elim Park for their kindness and care over the past four years. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Ann dedicated 27 years of service to the New Haven Board of Education, prior to her retirement in 1991.

Ann was a sweet and kind coworker at Hillhouse high school. We had many laughs together along with her sister, School Girl. I will cherish those memories.
