Ann M. Olivari, 89, of Middletown, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at Jersey Shore University Hospital in Neptune, New Jersey. She was born Ann M. Duffy on August 25, 1935, in Brooklyn, New York, where she grew up. She married the love of her life, Serafino Luciano Olivari, on November 17, 1956. After their marriage, Ann and Luciano remained in Brooklyn to raise their family. In 2013, they settled in Middletown, New Jersey to be closer to their family.
Ann was a kind and loving woman, with a wonderful sense of humor. She was a peacemaker, and never had an unkind word to say about anyone. Her outgoing nature meant she never met a stranger-only friends she hadn't yet made. She was loved by everyone who knew her and always gave her selfless, unconditional love in return. She and Luciano loved to travel, visiting Italy many times, Ireland, Alaska and Washington State to name a few. They especially enjoyed spending time at their home in Vermont, where they had spent the first 6 months of their marriage running a ski lodge! Over the last several years, Ann became very involved with her community at Arbor Terrace in Middletown. She was the founder of the Crochet Club and the creative leader for all the submissions to the Monmouth County Fair Senior Center Home & Garden competitions, as well as an Arbor Ambassador, welcoming new residents. In her spare time, Ann enjoyed baking and was known for her delicious, sweet treats. She also loved to dance, especially the Lindy, which was her favorite. But what mattered most to Ann was her family. She adored her children and grandchildren, and was overjoyed at the arrival of her first great-grandchild. Ann was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother and friend to many. She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
Ann was predeceased by her parents, Walter Duffy and Marguerite Kraus, her siblings Carl Duffy and Peggy Kochafen, and her beloved husband Luciano. She is survived by her daughter Nevia Lompado and her husband Frank; her daughter Diana Montella and her husband Lou; her son Renato Olivari and his wife Liz; and her cherished grandchildren, Lauren, Justin, Daniel, Stephen and his wife Cori, Alyssa and her husband Evan, and her great grandson Julian. She was also a loving aunt to to her nieces and nephews.
In respect of Ann's wishes, she will be privately cremated. Arrangements were entrusted to Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 3269 State Highway/Route 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey 07730. In lieu of flowers, donations in loving memory of Ann to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital would be greatly appreciated. A memorial Mass will be offered for Ann at a later date, to be announced.
