Harriet Owens Bramble, age 88, of Bethesda, MD, died on July 12, 2025. She is survived by her brother, Forrest F. Bramble, Jr. of Baltimore, MD; a niece, Anne Hickey of Morage, CA and three nephews, Paul Bender of Seal Beach, CA, Bill Bramble of Gibsonia, PA and Thomas Bramble of South Korea. Her sister, Matilda Bender and niece Catherine Wheeler, predeceased her.
Harriet was a 1958 graduate of Radcliffe College. In 1967 she moved to Washington, D.C. and was a program specialist at the U.S. Office of Education. Thereafter, she worked for the U.S. Senator Harrison Williams followed by work with the American Association of University Professors and as a paralegal at the law firm of O'Donnell, Schwartz & Anderson from which she retired in 1999. In retirement she focused on supporting humanitarian aid groups working to help refugees in crisis situations overseas.
Services will be private. Donations in her memory may be made to Doctors Without Borders, 40 Rector Street, 16th Floor, New York, NY 10006.
