Ann Phillips, 84, of Scranton, died Monday at Regional Hospital of Scranton. Born in Scranton, she was a daughter of the late Thomas A. and Lillian Stanwood Coyne.

Ann was a graduate of South Catholic High School and received her bachelors and master's degrees from the University of Scranton.

Prior to retirement she was a supervisor with Lackawanna County Children and Youth Services. In retirement she enjoyed shopping and dinners at Cooper's Seafood House with her granddaughters, going to the local casinos, traveling, trips to Atlantic City with her nephew, Frankie, his wife Gloria, with their daughters Ana and Mia, and visiting with her neighbors and friends in the outdoor courtyard at the Forum Towers where she resided.

Surviving are two daughters: Cheryl Phillips and Ranee Dix (Jeffrey), granddaughters Briana and Bethany Dix, sister, Marie Mangan, Camp Hill; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by her loving partner, James Huff, a sister, Elsie Brennan; and seven brothers: Robert, Richard, Paul, John, Marty, David, and Michael Coyne.

The family wishes to express their gratitude to the physicians at Regional Hospital, the nurse care teams in Telemetry and ICU, especially nurses Patrick, Lynn, Zee, Paige, Cindy, and Rosa, as well as, Nurse Jennifer from Compassus Hospice.

In accordance with her wishes, services are private. Interment, St. Joseph's Cemetery, Minooka.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to: Griffin Pond Animal Shelter, 67 Griffin Pond Rd, South Abington Township, PA 18411.
