Ann Joyce Rohrberger, age 87, of Pensacola, went home to the Lord on Friday, March 13, 2026.
She was born in Los Angeles, California on September 6, 1938.
Ann was a loving mother and sister and was a believer and follower of Jesus Christ. She was an active member of McIlwain Presbyterian Church and over the years was involved with the Stephen Ministry, ALPHA Program, and the Greeters Ministry which was especially close to her heart. It was important to her that not only members but all visitors be warmly welcomed to church on Sunday morning. In the 1980’s she started The Keenagers Ministry for elderly at McIlwain. She not only loved serving the elderly but had a knack for making activities fun and memorable.
She was a graduate of Murphy High School in Mobile, Alabama and was the lead majorette in the band. She led the way down Government street in many Mardi Gras parades.
Ann worked in real estate her entire life, starting with Mickey Miller in Mobile. In New Orleans she was a beloved and respected manager at Latter and Blum. After Hurricane Katrina she and Cecil returned to Pensacola where she ultimately retired at Coldwell Banker.
She loved the arts, musicals, plays, JazzFest in New Orleans, the French Quarter Festival, Saints games, crawfish boils. She just loved live music and celebrations of any kind. She often volunteered to serve at events so she could participate. She loved people.
One of her most favorite of all things was reading and studying the Bible. She was especially fond of R.C Sproul and Ligonier Ministries where she attended conferences regularly and often alone. She amassed a large library of study helps; books, bible commentaries, cassette tapes, CD’s, DVD’s. and was always hungry to learn more.
She wanted to know God, more and more.
Above all she loved her family, especially her husband, Cecil. They had a true romance, a love affair that only grew stronger with time. In later years as mobility and health limited activities they were happy simply being together, sitting together, reading together, where they didn’t look like 2 old folks, much more like high school sweethearts.
In addition to her parents, Ann is preceded in death by her loving husband Cecil Rohrberger; her mother, Ann Joyce Edwards Adams; and her nephew, Joey Teichmann.
Those left to cherish her memory include, her son, Alfred Hampton “Buzz” Griffin III; a sister, Glynn Teichmann; and a brother, Richard Adams Sr. Also her grandson Noah Griifin (Tayler).
Cecil had children from a previous marriage and Ann had grown very close to them all and they her. Shelly Cook (Steve), Lynda Palmer IGeorge), Eillen Wheeler (TED) and Cecil Rohrberger Jr.(Cathy), all of Mobile, Al.
A visitation will be held from 10:00 am until a Memorial Service begins at 11:00 am on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at McIlwain Presbyterian Church, Pensacola, FL.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Mom’s friends from McIlwain Presbyterian Church, thank you for visiting her during her final days, encouraging her and surrounding her with love. In particular, Pastor David McIntosh, Jr. who prayed with her almost without ceasing and his wife Amie, who sang to her every day at her bedside, thank you for the love and kindness shown.
And also to Mr. Bradley Cook, her grandson who lives in Mobile, and who drove over repeatedly simply to demonstrate his love and concern. Well done.
