Mavis Ann West Shidler, 76, passed away on Thursday, August 28, 2025 at Gulf Coast Medical Center in Ft. Myers, FL. She was born in Aberdeen on September 17, 1948 to Howard Murff and Mavis Lelia Weaver West. Ann was a 1966 graduate of Aberdeen High School and she went on to graduate from Miller Hawkins Business College in Memphis. She met her husband while in service at the time he was being transferred to Beaufort, SC. She came home after graduating. It wasn’t long until the family drove her to Beauford, SC where they proceeded to get married by Wayne West. During that time, Phil was sent to Vietnam at which time she came back home to Aberdeen to live. She worked at several jobs, Monroe County Hospital and several other such jobs. She became the first distributor of J.R. Watkins Products in the early 80’s. She built her business from the ground up. She received several awards and also several trips and cruises for her success to Paris, Hawaii, Rome and several others. She distributed to all representatives in Mississippi. After moving to Florida, she still wanted to work, and she did, receiving several promotions. Later she and Phil both retired together to enjoy taking it easy and enjoying life. Above all she loved her family.

Graveside services will be at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, September 7, 2025 at Oddfellows Rest Cemetery in Aberdeen.

She leaves behind her loving husband, Philip Shidler; sons, Joey Shidler (Donna) and Corey Shidler; grandsons, Connor Shidler and Matthew Shidler; step grandsons, Tyler Eubanks (Kaitlyn) and Avery Eubanks; great granddaughter, Sparrow Eubanks; sister, Marilyn Umfress (Jerry), special nephew, Kris Umfress (Christy), great nephew, A.J.; and special friend, Johnnie Botts, Debbie and Carl Harwood and Carlene Harwood; sisters-in-law, Peggy West; a host of other nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Cassie Ann Shidler; brothers, Wayne West, Leslie West; and nephew, Samuel West.
