Larry Shidler

Larry Shidler, age 85, of Linton, passed away peacefully at 7:25 pm on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at Autumn Trace in Linton. He was born in Brazil, IN on October 17, 1940, the son of Raymond & Lela Ruth (Baker) Shidler.
He was a graduate of Coalmont High School. He went off to try out college for a couple of years but decided going back to being a farmer was better for him, he then became an auditor for the Indiana Department of Revenue, which is where he worked until his retirement. He loved to watch the farm fields in the spring and the fall each year but he also enjoyed watching western shows on the television.
Larry is survived by his loving children, Leah (Kenneth) Lucas of Linton, Lana (Kerry) Heath of Dugger and Leif Shidler of Linton; grandchildren, Toni (Matt) Winkler, Julie (Jimmy) Bernier, Kaine Bauer, Nicole Shidler, Samantha Shidler, Eric Nagy, Anna (Kenny) Jackson, Kasie (Jimmy) Earle and Thaniel (Allison) Heath; great grandchildren, Caiden Brough, Airianna Brough, Vincent Bernier, Luke Winkler, Mark Winkler, Tristan Winkler, Katey Padgett, Emma Padgett, Dakota Padgett, Phoenix Richardson, James Richardson, Daniel Earle, Henry Jackson and Wyatt Earle as well as his sister, Vinita McCullough.
He was preceded in death by his parents; love of his life, Lois Shidler; brother, Dale Shidler; sister, Loretta Ellis as well as two great grandsons, Liam and Logan Richardson.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Linton of Walton Funeral Service, Inc on Tuesday, December 16, 2025 with Richard Himebrook officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Linton.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday, December 15, 2025 from 5:00-7:00 pm, and Tuesday from 10:00 am until the time of service.
