Mark Steven Shidler, 50, of Apple Creek, Ohio, passed away tragically in a truck accident near Syracuse, New York, on August 7, 2025. Born on May 14, 1975, he was the beloved son of Ronald and Dolores Shidler of Marshallville, Ohio, the devoted fiancé of Mandy Weaver of Apple Creek, and the cherished younger brother of Kelly Low of Fort Myers, Florida.

Mark was a 1993 graduate of Chippewa High School, attended the University of Akron, and studied diesel mechanics at the Medina County Career Center. Known for his skill, reliability, and love for engines, he worked as a trusted mechanic for Schneider Trucking and the Summit County Metro bus garage before beginning a business purchasing used Mack trucks and dump trucks for export to Nigeria and Haiti. Most recently, he drove and transported trucks for Shane's Equipment Sales in Cleveland, Ohio.

A passionate NASCAR fan, Mark once outfitted a city bus to take to races-his favorite always being #48 Jimmie Johnson. He loved playing cards with family and friends, especially Skip-Bo, Hand and Foot, Rummy, and Euchre, and enjoyed the challenge of word games. His adventurous spirit took him to 48 states and several foreign countries, creating memories he treasured. Mark was a SAL member of American Legion Post 147 in Applecreek.

Mark was preceded in death by his father, Ronald Shidler. He is survived by his fiancée, Mandy Weaver; Mandy's children, Tyler Sidle, Emily (Tyler) Ayers, and Nolan Royse; his mother, Dolores Shidler; his sister, Kelly (Mark) Low; nephews Nikolas Vinhaes and Lucas (Kim) Vinhaes; also, many loving relatives; as well as countless lifelong friends and colleagues from the trucking industry who will miss his humor, loyalty, and unwavering friendship.

Calling hours will be on Friday, August 15, 2025, at Auble Funeral Home, 512 East Oak Street, Orrville, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm.. Additional calling hours will take place Saturday, August 16, from 10-11 a.m., followed by a funeral service. Interment will be at Marshallville Maple Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Kaileemillsfoundation.org/donate. This is an organization to help raise awareness on the importance of wearing seatbelts.
