David A. Gray, age 68, of Orrville, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at Ohio's Hospice LifeCare in Wooster, surrounded by family and loved ones, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born on February 15, 1957, in Orrville, Ohio, David was the son of the late Robert and Peggy (Richmond) Gray. He graduated from Orrville High School with the Class of 1975. Shortly after, he moved to Illinois where he met the love of his life, Linda S. Fairchild. The two were married on July 15, 1978, in Secor, Illinois, and shared 47 incredible years together. They later returned to Orrville to raise their three sons.

David worked for Scott's (formerly ESteck), Wilburt, and dedicated more than 30 years as Property Manager and Trustee for the family's business, retiring in 2019. He was a proud member of the Orrville American Legion Post 282 and Orrville VFW #3446.

He had a deep love for his family and especially enjoyed staying at home watching his grandchildren and supporting them in their various activities. David also loved fishing, camping, traveling with friends, and working on cars. A loyal Ohio State Buckeyes and Cleveland Browns fan, he never missed a chance to cheer on his teams.

Surviving are his beloved wife, Linda; sons, Michael (Michelle) Gray, Joshua (Alicia) Gray, and Steven (Chrissy) Gray, all of Orrville; grandchildren, Nicole Vukich, Lindsey (Matthew) Baumgartner, Kaylee (Christian) Frazier, Joshua (Morgan) Dawson, Brittany Petersen, Lexi Gray, Caleb Gray, Bradly Gray, Kailynn Gray, Kenadi Gray, and Savanna Gray; great-grandchildren, Titus, Silas, Adaleigh, and Braxton; brothers, Donald (Debora) Gray, Dale (Donna Yonker) Gray, and Duane Gray, all of Orrville; sister, Mary (Daniel) Lauer of East Greenville; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; father- and mother-in-law, James and Zella Fairchild; brother-in-law, Pat Fairchild; nephew, Matthew Gray; and great-nephew, Gage Gray.

Friends may call on Saturday, September 20, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Auble Funeral Home, 512 East Oak Street, Orrville. Funeral services will follow at 12:00 p.m. with Pastor Jim Copenhaver officiating. Burial will take place at Crown Hill Cemetery in Orrville.
