Clyde T. Weaver, age 72, of Dalton, passed away on Monday, August 25, 2025, at Aultman Hospital in Canton, where he died unexpectedly.
Clyde was born on March 25, 1953, in Bessemer, Alabama, to the late John Wigglesworth and Dorothy Cohill. He graduated from Harlan High School in 1971. On October 24, 2003, he married Carlotta Lee McDonald in Orrville, and she survives.
He was employed with the United States Postal Service for 33 years before retiring. Following retirement, Clyde continued to serve his community as a bus driver for Orrville City Schools for the past three years.
A faithful member and Pastor of True Church House of Prayer to All Nations for 47 years. Clyde was devoted to his ministry and his love for God and all people from all walks of life. Clyde was a fisher of men and wanted all souls to be saved. He also enjoyed fishing, traveling, and playing the guitar.
Elder Clyde Terry Weaver experienced the greatest transformation of his life in 1978, when he was reborn through sanctification. He was saved, sanctified, and filled with the Holy Ghost at the True Church of Holiness under the guidance of the late Bishop Hildred E. Cohill, who faithfully served as the Assistant State Bishop of Illinois.
From that moment forward, Elder Weaver grew in both grace and service. He gave himself fully to the work of the Lord, serving faithfully as a musician, deacon, minister, elder, and pastor. His first love in music was the drums, where he skillfully kept the rhythm of praise. Later, the Lord anointed his hands to play the guitar, and through this instrument, he offered up a new sound unto the Lord. Singing while strumming, he birthed his own addition to the True Church sound-often lifting up a heartfelt "Thank You, Jesus!" that became his personal song of surrender, desire, and salvation.
Elder Weaver was passionate about tarrying services and about seeing souls filled with the Holy Ghost. He carried a sacred burden for preserving the legacy of holy living and lifting up Zion's songs. A true Bible scholar, he loved the Word of God and rightly divided it with clarity, conviction, and compassion.
In the latter years of his ministry, Elder Weaver was elevated to national leadership, serving as the Interim National Sunday School Superintendent for the True Church of the House of Prayer to All Nations. In this capacity, he taught, encouraged, and strengthened the saints, pouring out his unwavering faithfulness to the people of God.
Elder Weaver leaves behind a legacy of holiness, service, and sacred sound. His life was a living testimony that sanctification is real, that holy living is still right, and that worship in song and Word remains essential to the body of Christ. His personal mantra, which he declared often while pointing toward Heaven, will echo in our hearts forever:
"TELL HIM YES!"
Surviving, in addition to his wife Carlotta, are his children: Damita Everett of Canton, Sandra Everett of Akron, Veronica Weaver of Massillon, Valerie (Cam) Kimbrough of Cleveland, Cynthia (Ken) Trotter of Canton, Latia (Peter) Erb of Orrville, Lavell (Michelle) Weaver of Massillon, Garry Johnson of Ashland, Tyshaun Johnson of Liberty, and Torion (Taylr) Johnson of Wooster; 31 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Clyde was preceded in death by his son, Clyde Terry Weaver, Jr.; grandson, Clyde Terry Weaver, III; and brothers, James, Walter, and Arthur Weaver.
